Dunbar is in need of a facelift, local community councillors have claimed.

They have called for more cash and staff from East Lothian Council to be directed to carrying out cosmetic improvements in the town.

Herbert Coutts described the state of the High Street as "lamentable," claiming: "The town is not receiving the attention it should be receiving."

Saying there was no Dunbar "in bloom," he claimed council gardening staff were being allocated to Port Seton and North Berwick which were taking part in Britain in Bloom and Beautiful Scotland competitions."
