East Linton Bowling Club is celebrating its first ever title success in Division 1 of the East Lothian Leagues having finished two points clear of six-in-a-row seeking titleholders Port Seton.
They claimed the title with a grandstand 6-2 win at home to relegated Ormiston in the final round of matches.

County star Richard Black provided the drive and inspiration for his side as he skipped his rink to an 8-shot win over Stuart Clarke.

Grant Thomson also operated in a high gear as he skipped his rink to a 5-shot triumph over Stuart Johnston.

Ormiston did make it too hot for the champions elect on one rink with former national singles champion John McCrorie skipping his rink to a 9-shot win over Stewart Bell.

Defeat

Tranent finished with a disappointing 6-2 home defeat to Aberlady and that enabled both West Barns and EL Co-op to leapfrog them after their clash ended in a 4-4 share of the spoils.

Macmerry rounded off their campaign with a 6-2 defeat to Castlepark – a result that sentenced them to life in Division 2 next season.

Elphinstone trumpeted their promotion to next season's Division 1 with a tremendous 6-2 away win at fellow promotion chasers North Berwick to join runaway title winners Haddington in the top flight.
