Motorcycle racing makes a welcome return to East Fortune race circuit this weekend, August 16/17, with Rounds 13 and 14 of the Scottish Championship. Several Melville Club races are also taking place.

BSN Superstock 1000 class competitors includes the in-form Torquil Paterson, who recently broke the East Fortune lap record and will be looking to close the 38 point deficit on leader Bruce Birnie, while third place rider Michael Robertson will be hoping to build on his lead over Donald MacFadyen.
MixingThe 1,000cc senior Superstock class will be supported by Formula 400, Mini-Twins, Formula 125, Classics, Forgotten Eras, Early-Stocks, Sidecars and Superstock 600, the latter becoming a two-man race, with John MacDonald leading by 33.5 points and second place Lewis Farrow hoping to capitalise through the absence of Kenny Edwards who has opted for the Ulster Grand Prix this weekend.
Reigning champion Bob Grant returns to the 600 class and is sure to be mixing it at the front.
In the Sidecar Championship, Gordon Shand and Scott Lawrie are neck and neck with current champion Bill Davie, so Haddington's David Wrinn will be hoping to reel in the front two teams.
HealthyLast time Wrinn and Lawrie went head to head at East Fortune, they produced one of the best race finishes of the season when Wrinn won the out-braking contest into Hannah's chicane on the final lap.
John MacPhee has a healthy lead in the well-supported Formula 125 class.
However, the in-form 13-year old female racer Sammi Tasker is the one to watch, and could yet upset John's championship hopes.
Practice and qualifying starts from 9am on both days and racing is scheduled to begin at 1pm Saturday. and from around 10am on Sunday with a packed programme of races.
